The present invention relates to a method for controlling a distance relay, which protects a power system to which thyristor-controlled series capacitors (TCSC) are applied. The method for controlling a distance relay according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: determining an operation mode of TCSC; acquiring a reference setting value corresponding to the determined operation mode; and changing a setting value of a distance relay to the reference setting value when the setting value set in the distance relay is different from the reference setting value.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
