The present invention relates to a content recommendation apparatus and method using the similarity analysis of a heterogeneity category which can secure the diversity of contents recommended to a user. Because the present invention can classify categories that are independent of a user profile and select contents useful and suitable for a particular group related to the heterogeneity categories by analyzing similarity in a plurality of classified heterogeneity categories, it is possible to recommend various contents to a user belonging to a specific group instead of a method of selecting and recommending contents in a limited category like the existing method.
