ACCELERATION METHOD OF IMAGE SUPER-RESOLUTION TECHNIQUE BASED ON SELF-SIMILARITY

The present invention relates to image processing, and more specifically, to an acceleration method of a super-resolution technique. According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided is a method for generating an image using a super-resolution technique. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of: decomposing an input image into a low-frequency image and a high-frequency image; generating an enlarged image by using the input image; retrieving a similar patch in accordance with the similarity from the low-frequency image using the enlarged image as a patch unit; copying and mapping a patch in the high-frequency image corresponding to the retrieved similar patch to the high-frequency image in an upper resolution layer; and fusing the enlarged image and the high-frequency image of the upper layer to generate a high-resolution image having a higher resolution than the input image. In the step of retrieving the similar patch, the number of times of bypassing can be adjusted when the similar patch is retrieved.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
