The submarine cable arrangement according to the present invention includes at least one light source configured to generate the anti-fouling light and at least one optical medium configured to receive at least a portion of the anti-fouling light. The optical medium includes at least one exit surface configured to provide at least a portion of the contamination-preventive light on at least a portion of the outer surface.
