In the present invention, a multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) modified with a carboxylic phenyl polymer is mixed with a metal precursor to form M²⁺/ MWNT is synthesized and then M²⁺/ MWNT is mixed with an oxidizing agent to form a metal oxide (M₂O₃) / MWNT and a method for producing the same. The metal oxide / multi-walled carbon nanotube nanocomposite fabricated in the present invention has a characteristic that it can be used as an energy storage system as an electrode for a super capacitor.;
