The present invention relates to an advanced water treatment system using biological filtration and ballasted flocculation sedimentation, which is configured to include: a biological filtration device in which an anaerobic region (denitrification region) and an aerobic region (or excessive phosphorus in-take region or nitrification region) are simultaneously configured to effectively remove total nitrogen (T-N) components; and a treatment facility which is installed in the rear end of the biological filtration device and recycles loaded filters for the purpose of reducing total phosphorus (T-P). Through selective operations according to the purpose of use, the present invention serves to achieve a discharged water quality in which SS, BOD, and COD are respectively 2.0 mg/L or below, 2.0 mg/L or below, and 3.0 mg/L or below, and T-N and T-P are respectively 10.0 mg/L or below, and 0.20 mg/L or below. Also, the present invention allows the device to be compact and thus reduces construction costs and land purchase costs.
