MANAGING REMOTE DEPLOYMENT OF A VIRTUAL MACHINE IN A NETWORK ENVIRONMENT

A method for managing remote deployment of virtual machines (VM) in a network environment is provided. The VM image stored in the second storage medium is copied to the first storage medium. The first storage medium is located near the first computing system and the second storage medium is located remotely from the first computing system and is located near the second computing system. When the VM image is being copied, the first VM is placed on the first computing system from a partial copy of the VM stored on the first storage medium, and the second VM is placed on the second storage medium from the VM image stored in the second storage medium 2 computing system. Service requests submitted to the first computing system are managed either locally by the first VM or remotely by the second VM based on the type of services required.
