The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating gynecologic cancers and menopausal symptoms comprising an extract of Platanus acerifolia, active fractions thereof, single components isolated therefrom, and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof as active components. The present invention has first verified that extracts of Platanus acerifolia, active fractions thereof, and single components derived therefrom exhibit female hormone characteristics. The female hormonal materials provided in the present invention may be used in drugs for treating and preventing gynecologic cancers and menopausal symptoms, and in the functional health food industry.
