Provided are a method and a server to provide online collaborative learning by using a social network service. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the online collaborative learning providing server includes: a category classifying part classifying and storing learning information, which is collected from a social network service (SNS), into a plurality of categories; a learning information extracting part applying a score in accordance with a predetermined standard by extracting learning information, corresponding to a query received from a learner terminal, from the stored learning information; and a treemapping part determining a size for the visualization of the extracted learning information into a specific shape in proportion to the applied score, and providing the learning information, visualized into the specific shape of the determined size, to the learner terminal. The learning information extracting part applies the score by reflecting the predetermined standard including at least one among an SNS posting date of the learning information, the number of SNS recommendations, and the number of times being delivered to other SNS users, and then extracts a specific number of pieces of learning information in order of the higher score.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2017
