The present invention relates to a device for lifting a side surface of an upper structure of a bridge using a transverse beam, generating a vertical component force on a side surface of an end of a girder to simultaneously lift a transverse beam and the girder, thereby allowing a bridge bearing to be replaced, and a method for replacing a bridge bearing using the same. According to a preferred embodiment of the present invention, the device for lifting a side surface of an upper structure of a bridge using a transverse beam comprises: a pair of lower side surface brackets positioned on both side surfaces of a girder side end of an upper structure of a bridge, respectively, and also placed on an upper surface of a bridge support part of the upper structure of the bridge while having a bridge bearing positioned on a center to be installed opposite to each other; a pair of high tensile steel rods having both ends fixedly connected to the pair of lower side surface brackets, respectively; a pair of upper side surface brackets located on upper sides of the pair of lower side surface brackets, respectively, and installed to be in contact with a corner part where both side surfaces of the end of the girder and bottom surface of the transverse beam meet; a pair of hydraulic jacks positioned among the pair of lower side surface brackets and the pair of upper side surface brackets and arranged to be inclined toward a side surface of the girder at a predetermined lifting inclination angle with respect to the bottom surface of the girder to lift the upper structure of the bridge by a vertical component force generated by hydraulic pressure; a steel rod tightening means coupled to the pair of high tensile steel rods to determine an installation distance between the pair of lower side surface brackets and fix positions thereof.
