The present invention relates to an anti-EMAP II antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof, a nucleic acid molecule encoding the same, or a method for producing the same. The present invention also provides a method of using an anti-EMAP II antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof for the prevention, treatment, or diagnosis of an EMAP II mediated disease, for example, a TNF-a mediated disease or an Alzheimer's disease. The present invention also provides a method for using an anti-EMAP II antibody or antigen-binding fragment thereof for the detection or quantitation of an EMAP II antigen. The antibodies of the present invention exhibit enhanced antigen binding ability over conventional anti-EMAP II antibodies and can more effectively treat TNF-a mediated diseases.
