The present invention relates to a method for controlling a bypass flow rate when hot water is used in a dishwasher including a hot water heating system. Specifically, the method for controlling the bypass flow rate when the hot water is used in the dishwasher comprises: a step of completely closing a bypass valve and a direct water supply amount control valve in a control unit when the user waits to use the hot water; a step of determining whether a current temperature of rinsing water is higher than a predetermined maximum hot water usage temperature (Tmax) of the rinsing water; a step of individually opening 50% of the direct water supply amount control valve and the bypass valve when the current temperature of the rinsing water is higher than the predetermined maximum hot water usage temperature (Tmax) of the rinsing water; a step of determining whether a user starts to use the hot water by receiving an output signal of first and second flow rate sensors in real time; a step of operating a rinsing water circulation pump when a hot water usage starting signal of sensing a flow rate is input even in one among the first flow rate sensor and the second flow rate sensor; a step of opening 90% of the direct water supply amount control valve and 10% of the bypass valve; and a step of performing a subroutine automatically controlling an opening rate of the bypass valve by calculating an aimed bypass water amount and corresponding a result thereof. Therefore, the method for controlling the bypass flow rate can stably supply the hot water while maintaining a unique washing function of the dishwasher. The method for controlling the bypass flow rate also can prevent an accident and displeasure due to high temperature water by preventing the hot water of high temperature from being emitted to the user. The method for controlling the bypass flow rate can remarkably improve reliability in accordance with provision of the hot water, washing, and marketability of a product.
