The present invention relates to isosorbide derivatives having anti-microbial activity and an anti-microbial composition comprising the same as an active ingredient. The isosorbide derivatives having a structure represented by chemical formula 1 have no cytotoxicity, are dissolved in an aqueous solution, and have excellent antibiotic sensitivity and anti-microbial activity against resistant strains. Also, diffusivity of anti-microbial activity is improved by 27 to 66% compared to norfloxacin which has been used as an existing antibiotic. Accordingly, an anti-microbial composition comprising the isosorbide derivatives can be used as a medicine, a cosmetic additive or a food preservative for preventing or treating bacterial infectious diseases.
