Column array structure with uniform nanometer intervals with a high aspect ratio

There is provided a technique regarding sorting entities. An inlet is configured to receive a fluid, and an outlet is configured to exit the fluid. An array of nano-columns connected to the inlet and to the outlet is configured to allow the fluid to flow from the inlet to the outlet. The array of nano-columns includes nano-columns that are arranged to separate entities in size. The nano-columns are arranged so that they have a gap separating one nano-column from another nano-column. The gap is designed to be on the order of nanometers.
