The present invention relates to a grating unit as a lining in a joints channel for the cover of a joint, a simple deployable device for covering a joint, preferably a floor joint, of a building, in particular a industry bottom, with a high load-carrying capacity and for permanent smooth travel over the same with a plate-shaped grating unit as well as a method for permanent covering of joints, in particular ground joints, of a building or structural component, in particular a warehouse or production site, with a device and vibration-free driving on the same with vehicles, in particular material handling vehicles, which apparatus comprises a grating unit with openings, characterized by the steps of: lifting a joints channel along the joint, cleaning of the sole of the joints channel, the application of a sole layer containing an adhesion promoter, the placement of the grating unit to the sole layer, casting of the synthetic material filling material with pmma in the cells of the grating unit, hardening of the filling material and subsequent polishing of the upper sides of grid, filler material as well as of the joints channel border areas of the bottom.
