Cosmetic composition comprising water and at least one of the following components: A) at least one estolidester compound of the formula (3) as component A: wherein n is 1 to 10, preferably 2 to 8, especially 3 to 7, and R is from branched or straight chain C3-20 alkyl, preferably from C6-18 alkyl, more preferably C10-16 alkyl, even more preferably C12-14 alkyl, B) optionally at least one surfactant component B, C) optionally at least a thickener component C, D) if appropriate at least one hair conditioning component D and E) optionally at least one further component E different from components A to D, with the proviso that the cosmetic composition contains at least one component B or at least one component D.
