Floor construction for buildings, insulating panels for floor constructions, and methods of constructing floor constructions

The floor construction comprises a number of beams 2 and a number of insulating panels 22 positioned between adjacent pairs of the beams. A covering layer 23 is placed over the beams and panels. The construction comprises a solvent impermeable barrier between the covering layer and one of the insulating panels. The barrier may be a polyethylene film which can block fuel or oil from a vehicle in a garage to protect the expanded polystyrene insulation panels. Also claimed is a floor construction with beams, panels and a concrete layer 4, such as s screeded layer over the beams and panels. Also claimed are methods of making the floor constructions and an insulation panel suitable for the floor constructions.
