PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a build-up layer that can reliably reduce cracks in a starting end part of a build-up layer by a simple method, and to provide a device for producing the same.SOLUTION: A method for producing a build-up layer includes: supplying a substrate with first metal powder where concentration of at least one of Si, Ni, Mo and Al is relatively low to form a starting end part of a build-up layer; and after the formation of the starting end part, supplying the substrate with second metal powder where concentration of at least one of Si, Ni, Mo and Al is relatively high instead of the first metal powder.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
