PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a timbre setting device and a timbre setting method that allow an electronic musical instrument to generate various layer timbres with a simple operation, and an electronic musical instrument system.;SOLUTION: A timbre selection reception unit 104 receives a plurality of timbre selections operated by a user. A timbre determination unit 105 determines whether the plurality of selected timbres are: layer timbres capable of being set in a sound source part of a timbre setting device 1; layer timbres obtained by combination of timbres capable of being set in the sound source part and timbres capable of being set in an inner sound source of an electronic musical instrument; or layer timbres capable of being set in the inner sound source of the electronic musical instrument. On the basis of the result of the determination, a timbre setting instruction supplying unit 106 and a timbre setting instruction transmitting unit 108 supply or transmit a timbre setting instruction that sets timbre data corresponding to individual timbres or layer timbre data corresponding to the layer timbres, to at least one of the sound source part and the inner sound source of the electronic musical instrument.;SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2;COPYRIGHT: (C)2018,JPO&INPIT
