PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microchip capable of preventing contamination of oxygen etc. between cells by encapsulating a well including cells to isolate the cells in a cell metabolism measurement such as oxygen consumption.;SOLUTION: A microchip to measure cell metabolism comprises: a cell capture part 101 capturing a cell 201 contained in a specimen; and a channel 103 for encapsulation into which fluid encapsulating the cell capture part 101 is introduced in which the fluid substantially does not have permeability of a cell metabolism related substance. Preferably the fluid included in the microchip is one kind oil or more selected from mineral oils.
