PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing plug structure for a steam drain hole of a steel pipe concrete column and a construction method for the steel pipe concrete column with the sealed steam drain hole, the sealing plug structure being fitted firmly without compromising a filling property inside the steel pipe concrete column and eliminating a need on removal work for a plug material.;SOLUTION: A sealing plug structure is for sealing a steam drain hole 5 of a CFT column 1. A plug material 10A for sealing the steam drain hole 5 includes a shaft part 11a inserted into the steam drain hole 5 and a head part 11b formed on a base end of the shaft part 11a and positioned outside of the CFT column 1. The head part 11b is adhered on a steel material connected on a peripheral surface 2a or on an outer side of the outer peripheral surface 2a of the CFT column 1.
