PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable weather data to be easily used.SOLUTION: According to one embodiment, a torrential rain prediction apparatus is for predicting a torrential rain, and includes detection means to detect a core of a rain cloud on the basis of weather data of the rain cloud observed by a weather radar at regular intervals; acquisition means to acquire position information of the detected core on the basis of a result of the core detection by the detection means; determination means to determine a movement direction of the core on the basis of the acquired position information; and calculation means to calculate an area on a ground corresponding to the movement direction of the core as an area in which occurrence of a torrential rain is predicted.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
