PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a proliferation suppression system for water bloom and a method for suppressing proliferation of water bloom which can efficiently suppress proliferation of water bloom.SOLUTION: A proliferation suppression system 1 for water bloom comprises a microbubble generator 40 that discharges microbubbles in a horizontal direction from a set depth d2 set based on a pH at which the water bloom proliferates in a water area 2 where the relationship between a water depth and the pH is acquired and the proliferation of the water bloom is suppressed. In addition, a method for suppressing the proliferation of the water bloom includes: a pH acquiring step of acquiring the relationship between the water depth and the pH in the water area 2 where the proliferation of the water bloom is suppressed; a depth setting step of setting the set depth d2 to a depth set based on the pH at which the water bloom proliferates; and a microbubble discharging step of discharging microbubbles in the horizontal direction from the set depth d2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9
