PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of supporting determination of staging of diabetic retinopathy.SOLUTION: Imaging data of an eyeground photograph of a subject is obtained by imaging an eyeground of the subject with an eyeground camera. Contrast of the imaging data of eyeground image of the subject is adjusted uniformly in the whole display. A diameter of a portion which is brightest is made within a range of a reference diameter in the adjustment. Then, it is determined whether a diameter of a portion which is second brightest is in a range of the reference diameter. When it is determined that the diameter of the portion which is second brightest is in the range of reference diameter, a distance between centers of the brightest portion and second brightest portion is calculated. When the calculated distance between the centers is in a range of the reference distance, the subject has high probability of being with proliferative diabetic retinopathy or preproliferative diabetic retinopathy. When the calculated distance between the centers is not in a range of the reference distance, the subject has high probability of not being with proliferative diabetic retinopathy or preproliferative diabetic retinopathy.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
