PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a measuring apparatus of liquid crystal characteristics, a measuring method of the liquid crystal characteristics and a liquid crystal display panel, capable of improving detection sensitivity of a transient current flowing into liquid crystal molecules by a lateral electric field.SOLUTION: A measuring apparatus of liquid crystal characteristics includes: a first substrate; a second substrate arranged oppositely to the first substrate; a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate; a plurality of switching elements arranged in a matrix on a surface of the first substrate; pixel electrodes connected to the switching elements; a common electrode insulated from the pixel electrodes by an insulating film; and a measuring circuit for applying a predetermined varying voltage from the outside of a liquid crystal display panel to the pixel electrodes connected to partial switching elements and outputting a transient current allowed to flow into the pixel electrode different from the pixel electrodes to which the varying voltage is applied to the outside of the liquid crystal display panel. Further the measuring apparatus for measuring the liquid crystal characteristics of the liquid crystal layer includes: a voltage generation part for applying a voltage to the liquid crystal display panel in which orientation of liquid crystal molecules of the liquid crystal layer is changed by a lateral electric field through the measuring circuit; and a current measuring part for measuring a transient current.
