A fault detector (11) detects the occurrence of a fault in a conductor path (7). A controller (12) controls open and close states of each of a first switch (61) in the conductor path (7) and a second switch (62) on a nearer side to a storage battery (21) than the first switch (61) in the conductor path (7) based on a detection result by the fault detector (11). The controller (12) operates at least the first switch (61) in an open state when the fault detector (11) detects the occurrence of the fault during charging of the storage battery (21), and operates at least the second switch (62) in an open state when the fault detector detects the occurrence of the fault during discharging of the storage battery (21).
