PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a member for a counter electrode substrate which is less expensive and enables the exhibition of an excellent conversion efficiency while ensuring a leak resistance against an electrolyte in a dye-sensitized solar battery.SOLUTION: A sheet-like metal composite has a lamellar structure including a metal porous layer and a metal dense layer. A counter electrode for a dye-sensitized solar battery is arranged by use thereof. A dye-sensitized solar battery is arranged by use thereof. A method for manufacturing the sheet-like metal composite comprises the step of applying paste including metal particles and a binder to a dense metal sheet, and the step of sintering the dense metal sheet with the paste applied thereto, thereby forming a structure having a metal porous layer including the metal particles and a metal dense layer including the metal sheet. In the structure, the metal particles are metal-bonded with each other, and the metal porous layer and the metal dense layer are bonded together.
