Method and system for negotiating mobility parameters between base stations - The invention provides a method for negotiating mobility parameters between base stations (BSS). A detection bs performs a mobility parameter decision and optimization processing after it has received a mobility parameter modification request message from a source bs. when processing is successful, the destination bs sends a mobility parameter modification acknowledgment message that contains at least one message type and a source cell id to the source bs; on failure, the destination bs sends a mobility parameter modification failure message that contains at least one message type, a reason for the failure, and the source cell id to the source bs. A system for negotiating the mobility parameter between BSS is also provided. Throughout the description, the source bs can accurately recognize which source cell the mobility transfer parameter negotiation is performed on, and also know precisely which target cell the negotiation message is, thereby avoiding inconsistency of the mobility parameter modification caused by message clutter, improving the robustness of mobility parameter modification and enhancing network performance.
