RIVER WATER CONTINUOUS MONITORING SYSTEM

The present invention consists in allowing the sampling of water properties, such as level (height of the water column), temperature, turbidity and electrical conductivity among others, simultaneously at different points along the river, continuously, by means of a low cost sensor system. each node with sensors and a transceiver is positioned along the river and communicates wirelessly by radio for periodic transmission of measured properties. Each sensor node, in addition to measuring the water properties at that point, transmits its measurements (and measurements received from other sensors) to the neighboring sensor. This process repeats itself to the last sensor, called the coordinator, which relays all data to a web server connected to the internet via cellular data service. This server stores the measurements in a database, and allows graphs to be viewed over the web. The existence of several periodic measurement points will help to determine unwanted sewage emissions, as well as allow a more accurate study of diffuse pollution discharge processes in the water body.
