The present invention relates to a bio-enhanced composition, method of preparation of said composition and its use for improved bleaching and enhanced delignification of pulp in the field of paper manufacture. The bio-enhanced composition is non-toxic and biodegradable, essentially free of enzymes and is defined by MALDI-TOF profile and physico-chemical properties. It is obtained by fermentation of probiotic microbial consortia in a medium under fermentation conditions. It is added to the pulp at varying stages of bleaching and delignification of pulp to effect brightness and improved pulp viscosity with reduced usage of caustic chemicals. Additionally the composition aids in reduced usage of delignification and bleaching chemicals and is a greener solution to existing technology. Fig. 2
