A method for simulating the movement process of surface water flow in surface irrigation, belonging to the technical field of irrigation and water conservation. The simulation method comprises: step a, acquiring surface relative elevation data, surface roughness coefficient data of the ridged field and surface water infiltration rate data of a target ridged field; step b, substituting the surface relative elevation data, the surface roughness coefficient data of the ridged field and the surface water infiltration rate data into an improved complete hydrodynamic equation, numerically solving the improved complete hydrodynamic equation so as to derive a simulation value of the depth of the surface water of a certain point at a certain time, and simulation values of the vertical integral average flow velocity of irrigation water flow along an x coordinate direction and a y coordinate direction in the target ridged field; and step c, deriving, according to the simulation value of the depth of the surface water, and the simulation values of the vertical integral average flow velocity of irrigation water flow along the x coordinate direction and the a y coordinate direction, simulation values of the unit discharge of irrigation water flow along the x coordinate direction and the y coordinate direction. The simulation method has high-precision simulation and a simple numeric solving process.
