The present invention relates to the field of mobile payment, and provides a usage condition data collection method for a metro fare payment technique, and fare payment system. The method comprises: recording rules of fares between metro stations; reading a start station of a passenger, and associating the same with a payment interface of a mobile phone; determining whether the passenger exits a station; if not, then remaining in a current state; and if so, then calculating a metro fare of the passenger, deducting the fare at the payment interface of the mobile phone, and sending technique usage data to a data collection end preset by a manufacturer. By employing a short-range wireless communication technology (i.e., the NFC technology) to read a start station and an exit station of a user riding a metro system, the present invention enables metro fare calculation of a passenger, and association of the metro fare with a mobile phone payment interface of the passenger, thus automatically deducting a metro fare, saving time for a user, and improving the operation efficiency of a metro system. At the same time, the present invention facilitates timely and effective data collection of a usage condition of a related technique for a manufacturer.
