A brain electrode device (S) having electrodes that can be inserted inside the brain is provided with an elongated probe (100), an electrode portion (102) that is formed on the probe (100), and an insertion member (3) that is removably inserted into a first hole (103) formed in a flat surface of the probe (100), which is flexible. In addition, the probe (100) is provided with a first region (104) on the electrode portion (102) side relative to the position in which the first hole (103) is formed and a second region (105) on the opposite side of the electrode portion (102) side relative to the position in which the first hole (103) is formed, and the insertion member (3) is inserted into the first hole (103) with the probe (100) being folded at the position of the first hole (103) such that the second region (105) overlaps the first region (104).
