The present invention relates to a device for providing a value of an international normalized ratio (INR) of a sample in a prothrombin time (PT) assay, said device comprising an analysis unit comprising means for determining a clotting time in a sample; wherein said device further comprises an evaluation unit comprising an algorithm for calculating a local mean normal PT (MNPT) value and/or a local International Sensitivity Index (ISI) value from a calibration curve determined by said analysis unit. The present invention further relates to a method for providing at least one standardization parameter in a prothrombin time (PT) assay on a coagulation analyzer comprising a) establishing a calibration curve from predetermined INR calibration samples; b) calculating a local mean normal PT (MNPT) value and/or a local international sensitivity index (ISI) value from said calibration curve; and c) displaying and/or storing said local MNPT and/or said local ISI on said coagulation analyzer; also, the present invention relates to further methods, uses, and kits relates thereto.
