A reception processing unit and a display control unit are realized with a musical score processing program. The reception processing unit receives, by communication between applications, control data relating to the display of a musical score, from a music processing unit that is realized with a separate music processing program from the musical score processing program and executes a process relating to a musical composition. The display control unit displays the musical score of the musical composition on a display device, and controls the display in accordance with the control data received by the reception processing unit.
