A fire hydrant suggestion method and system for an urban fire protection system (30). The method comprises the following steps: an urban fire protection system locating a fire location address (101); the urban fire protection system retrieving a fire hydrant in a preset range around the position of the fire location address (102); and the urban fire protection system retrieving an operation state of the fire hydrant, pairing, if the operation state is normal, the fire hydrant and a fire truck in one-to-one correspondence, and suggesting the fire hydrant to the paired fire truck (103). The method and system have the advantage of enabling timely rescue operation.
