The present invention relates to a preparation method of an organic-inorganic nanoporous material-metal chloride hybrid moisture adsorbent, a moisture adsorbent prepared thereby, and a moisture adsorption composition for surface coating comprising the organic-inorganic nanoporous material-metal chloride hybrid moisture adsorbent. The preparation method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises impregnating a predetermined amount of a metal chloride that can further improve moisture adsorption properties in pores of an organic-inorganic nanoporous material formed by a crystallization reaction between an aluminum precursor and fumaric acid, thereby preparing the organic-inorganic nanoporous material-metal chloride hybrid moisture adsorbent. The organic-inorganic nanoporous material-metal chloride hybrid moisture adsorbent can have a maximum moisture adsorption amount of 0.4 g/g or more in a driving pressure range of devices such as a dehumidifier, a moisture adsorption type refrigerator, a cooling and heating device, and the like to which the moisture adsorbent may be applied. The moisture adsorption composition for surface coating comprising the organic-inorganic nanoporous material-metal chloride hybrid moisture adsorbent also exhibits excellent moisture adsorption properties in the driving pressure range.
