RNA Association of microRNA polymorphisms with the risk of ischemic stroke in a Korean population

The present invention relates to an association between the risk of ischemic stroke in the Korean population and microRNA polymorphisms, and more specifically, to a method and kit for determining a single nucleotide polymorphism selected from miR-34a CA(rs6577555), miR-130a CT(rs731384), miR-150 GA(rs73056059), and miR-155 TA(rs767649) in the DNA sample of a subject to provide information necessary in the determination of the risk of developing ischemic stroke in the Korean population; and to a method and kit for determining a single nucleotide polymorphism selected from miR-34a CA(rs6577555) and miR-150 GA(rs73056059) in the DNA sample of a subject to provide information necessary in the determination of a prognosis. According to the present invention, based on the above four miRNA polymorphisms, information useful in the determination of the risk of developing ischemic stroke and the prognosis thereof in the Korean population can be provided. Particularly, such information can be provided more conveniently by using the kits of the present invention.
