The present invention relates to a method for diagnosing depression. More specifically, the present invention relates to a diagnostic method and a diagnostic kit, which analyze a concentration of a specific biomarker in the blood of a patient with stroke and predict post-stroke depression (PSD). The method for diagnosing post-stroke depression comprises: a measurement step of measuring at least one concentration of IL-6 and IL-18 among the blood of the patient with the stroke; and a diagnosis step of comparing each reference concentration corresponding to at least one of the measured IL-6 concentration and the measured IL-18 concentration, and determining depression.
