The present invention relates to a recombinant microorganism including a genetic modification which increases the activity of haloalkane dehalogenase and a genetic modification which increases the expression of at least one of RclR, RclA, RclB, and RclC; a composition which is used to reduce the concentration of fluorinated methane in a sample including the recombinant microorganism; and a method for reducing the concentration of fluorinated methane.
