A new plant type mandarin orange having a bigger fruit size capable of harvesting within a year and breeding method thereof

The present invention relates to a novel variety of mandarin orange ′Jegam Na-51′, which can be harvested all year round and has a bigger fruit size; and a method for breeding the same. The novel variety of mandarin orange of the present invention, ′Jegam Na-51′ has a fruit size about 2.5 times bigger than conventional varieties of mandarin orange, Onjumilgam, Namhyang, and Encore; is easy to peel; has a high sugar content; has excellent flesh quality; can be harvested all year round; and can be cultivated outdoor, wherein the strength of fruit peel is high, preventing the flesh from getting softened while being sorted and transported. Also, the novel variety of mandarin orange of the present invention is characterized by a smaller size compared to conventional varieties of mandarin orange, and thus has enhanced transportability and storability; and is a suitable variety to be exported to cultivation sites where the volume was a problem previously, such as Southeast Asia, thus resolving the burden associated with the seed royalty and improving the product competitiveness of mandarin orange.
