EXCAVATION PERFORMANCE TESTING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING PERFORMANCE OF SOFT-GROUND TUNNEL BORING MACHINE

The present invention relates to an excavation performance testing apparatus and method for predicting performance of a soft-ground tunnel boring machine (TBM). The apparatus includes: a housing; a compacted sample box provided on a lower end of the housing, with an upper portion being opened and compacted soil being filled therein; a soil chamber provided on the compacted sample box in the housing, in which the soil comes in the soil chamber according to excavation of the soil in the compacted sample box, and the soil chamber has an output port at one side, through which the soil is discharged; a small blade provided at a lower end of the soil chamber and having a cutting tool for excavating the soil in the compacted sample box and a small foam inlet port for injecting a foaming agent to the sand; a servo motor for rotating the small blade; a soil discharge unit provided at the soil discharge port to adjust a discharge amount of the soil to be discharged; a loading unit for moving the small blade to the sand to apply a vertical load to the sand; and a foam injecting unit for injecting the foam having a predetermined compounding ratio to the foam injecting port. It is possible to exactly simulate the same mechanism as the soft-ground TBM, thereby predicting the performance of the TBM according to properties of the ground.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2018
