FIELD: medicine.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to vascular surgery, and is a method for predicting pulmonary arterial embolization in oncology patients with lower extremity phlebothrombosis, consisting in fact that during the venous thrombosis formation in inferior vena cava before the beginning of anticoagulant therapy, initial quantitative index of D-dimer is determined and if D-dimer level is above 2.88 ng/ml, pulmonary arterial embolization is predicted.EFFECT: invention provides increased accuracy and informativeness of the method, allows predicting pulmonary arterial embolization in oncology patients with lower extremity phlebothrombosis with a sensitivity of 78 % and a specificity of 84 %.1 cl, 3 tbl, 2 ex
