FIELD: machine engineering.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the compensation method of at least one low-frequency mechanical perturbing oscillation, that is generated in the rotor (11) of the active magnetic bearing (1) due to the action of the perturbing force (103) on the rotor (1). The mechanical perturbing oscillation has the perturbing oscillation frequency below the rotor speed (11). The method includes the following steps: a) analysis of the low-frequency perturbing oscillation, b) determination of the compensative force (104) to generate the mechanical compensation force in the rotor (1), opposing the mechanical perturbing oscillation, and c) application of this compensative force to the rotor (11). Steps a), b) and c) are carried out by means of at least one compensative control loop (14) of the active magnetic bearing (1), disconnected from the magnetic bearing control loop (12) to control the active magnetic bearing (1). In addition, the corresponding active magnetic bearing (1), having the rotor (11), is provided, at least one loop (12) to control the active magnetic bearing (1) and at least one compensative control loop (14), disconnected from the loop (12) to compensate for at least one low-frequency mechanical perturbing oscillation.
