FIELD: geology.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of geology and can be used for exploration of hydrocarbon deposits in the shelf area. Method of a complex system for the search and exploration of hydrocarbon deposits by seismic and electromagnetic methods in the shelf area is claimed, which is carried out using bottom seismic stations, providing the measurement through 4 channels (3 geophones: Χ, Y, Z, and 1 hydrophone) and the registration of all types of the waves installed at the bottom along the observation line using a high-strength rope with negative buoyancy, on which the station attachment points are installed. Along the line, there are additionally installed electroprospecting stations with bottom receiving lines, that provide the measurement of the electrical component of the electromagnetic field in points near the seismic stations at a distance of not less than 5 m from the nearest station and the set ratio of the sensors installation depending on the survey scale (seismic / electroprospecting) from 20/1 to 5/1. Excitation of the seismic and electromagnetic fields is synchronized according to the minimal influence of the electromagnetic current source on geophones. Processing of all channels separately and a joint (complex) interpretation of seismic and electroprospecting data is performed, according to the results of which the presence of a hydrocarbon deposit is judged.;EFFECT: technical result is an increase in the efficiency of exploration activities.;1 cl
