METHOD OF THYMECTOMY AT THE DISPLACEMENT OF MEDIASTINUM

For 1 to 5 intercostal spaces, a flap is formed from the large and small pectoral muscles along with the breast tissue. Anterior segments of cartilaginous fragments of 2, 3, 4 ribs are exposed. Peel the perichondrium on the front surface of the cartilaginous segments of the ribs for 5 cm along the lateral and posterior semicircle. Cross and remove the cartilaginous parts of 2, 3, 4 ribs in the area free from the perichondrium. Intersect fragments of the perichondrium at a distance of 1 cm lateral to the edge of the sternum. Remove the crossed parts along with intercostal muscles from the outside and perform thymectomy.
