PROCESS FOR PURIFYING THE LIQUID EFFLUENTS OF A WET WASHER FOR TREATING EXHAUST SMOKE EMITTED BY A DIESEL ENGINE, AND METHOD OF TREATING SUCH FUMEES

In order to purify, in a simple, compact and economical manner, liquid effluents (4) from a wet scrubber (L) treating the exhaust fumes (1) emitted by a diesel engine (M), the invention provides that: solid particles (7), which contain between 25 and 75% by weight of activated carbon and between 25 and 60% by weight of cement and have an average size of between 30 μm and 500 μm, are introduced into the washer (L) and - the effluents to be purified (4) are, at the outlet of the scrubber (L), sent to a solid-liquid separator (S) in which the effluents are separated into a clear fraction (5) and a sludge (6) containing solid particles (7).
