A paint roller, a spindle rod 106 and a first and second reel 120,130 are described. The paint roller 100 includes a spindle rod 106 including a first end and a second end opposite to the first end. The paint roller 100 also includes a first 120 and second reel 130 rotatably mounted on the spindle rod 106 proximate to first and second ends of the spindle rod 106 respectively. The first reel 120 includes an engagement portion. In another embodiment there is provided a paint roller assembly and a kit, comprising a paint roller sleeve (200, Fig. 4) featuring a tubular body 210 defining a passage therethrough. There exists a first and second aperture at each end of the passage. A first collar (220, Fig. 4) is received in the first aperture, and a second collar (230, Fig. 4) is received in the second aperture.
