A pillow having a device 2 with vibrating means, a pressure sensor 7, wireless communication means 3, a microprocessor 4, and a plurality of speakers 6. The wireless communication means, such as Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, is configured to connect with an external device which provides an input to the vibrating device. The input may be, for example, a wake up alarm, a meeting reminder, a weather report. The external device may be for example a mobile phone, a meeting calendar, a security alarm, or a fire alarm. The pressure sensor is configured to control vibrations of the device on the basis of movement of the user, and can stop the vibrations once the user lifts his head from the pillow. The pillow may optionally include a rechargeable power source 5, a display screen 8, a plurality of input buttons, a radio transmitter and receiver 10 and a GPS 11. The radio transmitter and receiver may be wirelessly connected to a smoke or fire alarm. The buttons can allow for manual input of parameters such as setting the time or status check. There may be a sound recorder. The speakers may output voice messages such as daily plans, or advertisements.
