The present invention provides a method for high yield and stable production of carotenoids through microbial culture. The present invention provides a method for culture of carotenoid-producing bacteria, which comprises culturing carotenoid-producing bacteria in a medium containing cobalt or a cobalt salt at a concentration of 0.005 µmol/L to 20 µmol/L.
